Central Co-operative Learning Trust

Grange School

Grange School is an Infant school with an attached Nursery situated in the Shobnall Parish of Burton-on-Trent. The pupils are from diverse cultural, social, racial and ethnic groups. This makes our school a unique and special setting to learn.

The school is a vibrant, positive place which truly lives up to our vision of providing excellent building blocks for our pupil’s lifelong learning. Our children enjoy coming to school, are motivated by their successes and become confident, responsible citizens. Pupils and their families are secure in the knowledge that this school welcomes and recognises that the welfare and education of each child is our focus.

Children are provided with an excellent start to their education in the Early Years Foundation Stage. The smooth transition into Key Stage One enables every child to continue to be a confident and independent learner. Grange has a creative curriculum which fosters curiosity and active learning. Very effective teaching and learning strategies are well embedded and all children learn to work both independently and co-operatively in a fully-inclusive learning environment.

We value our bi-lingual speaking staff, family support worker and other staff who work closely with the children and their families to ensure that each and every child receives an equal opportunity to learn and be happy in school.

The Head Teacher, Staff and Governors have a positive, open minded approach to sharing good practice with other colleagues and schools. Links with schools in the MAT and beyond have led to regular review and development of our practice.

We are one of the few Infants schools left in the County and we are very proud of our exceptional school.
