Central Co-operative Learning Trust

Local Governing Boards

Each of our schools is supported by a Local Governing Board (LGB), which plays an important role in providing local oversight and challenge while supporting the delivery of the Trust's vision and strategic priorities. Local Governing Boards work closely with Headteachers and school leaders to monitor educational standards, pupil outcomes, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour, and community engagement. They provide constructive challenge and assurance to ensure that Trust policies and priorities are being implemented effectively at school level, while acting as a valuable link between the school, its parents, and the wider community.

Responsibility for the strategic direction, financial oversight and statutory governance of the Trust remains with the Board of Trustees, with Local Governing Boards carrying out the responsibilities delegated to them through the Trust's Scheme of Delegation. The Trust's Scheme of Delegation can be found here
